Posted by John Rogers | Sep 09, 2021

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging a Huntington Beach man with several child exploitation crimes, including possessing, distributing, and producing child pornography.

Mark Oster, of Huntington Beach, served as a referee and coach for American Youth Soccer Organization from 2015 through 2021. The indictment alleges that Oster committed two counts of producing child pornography, one count of distribution of child pornography, and one count of possession of child pornography.

Oster was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on a complaint. He has been in custody since July 30. Oster was initially charged with possession of child pornography, but further investigation revealed Oster's production and distribution of the material since his arrest.

If convicted, Oster faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in federal prison, with a statutory maximum of 100 years in prison.
